The candle burned far longer than expected. Singeing grains of rice in its descent to the base. Long after the wax has all melted away from your sinewy core. Frayed threads. Exposed. Burning embers catching crackling potential energies converted to thermodynamics. Flames still persist in the grains, tempered with the fallen wax. Brought on the journey back from the dc memorial. Your scent will not rid from my room quickly.
